On the tenth day of December...

Written by: Dan Mackevicius, Communications Intern

On the tenth day of December, my true love gave for me swimming lessons for keep kids safe.

Drowning is one of the leading causes of childhood injuries and death, but many children don’t have access to swimming lessons that could save their life.  For $50 you can offer children the skills to prevent drowning to boys and girls across America.

Children ages 1 to 4 have the highest drowning rates. In 2007, among children 1 to 4 years old who died from an unintentional injury, almost 30% died from drowning.  Fatal drowning remains the second-leading cause of unintentional injury-related death for children ages 1 to 14 years.” – www.cdc.gov.
